Modern Slavery Statement for Storage Harringay
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Storage Harringay to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. Storage Harringay recognises that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all our dealings, and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Harringay has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. We do not tolerate any form of exploitation in our own operations or in our supply chain. All employees, contractors and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment and to act in accordance with our values and policies at all times.
Our zero-tolerance policy is embedded in our internal procedures and supplier requirements. It underpins how we recruit and manage staff, how we select and work with suppliers, and how we oversee third-party service providers. Any confirmed breach of this policy by an employee or supplier may result in disciplinary action, termination of employment, or termination of contract.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Storage Harringay works with a range of suppliers, including providers of storage equipment, building maintenance contractors, cleaning services, security services and other professional services. We seek to build long-term and transparent relationships with suppliers who share our ethical standards.
We expect all suppliers to comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws and to actively prevent modern slavery in their own operations and supply chains. Our supplier standards require suppliers to ensure that all work is freely chosen, that workers are of legal working age, and that working conditions are safe, fair and non-discriminatory.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To support our zero-tolerance stance, Storage Harringay operates a risk-based due diligence and audit process for suppliers, particularly those providing higher-risk services such as contracted labour, cleaning or construction-related services.
Before onboarding key suppliers, we may request information about their employment practices, policies on modern slavery, and the steps they take to prevent exploitation. Where appropriate, we require contractual commitments that prohibit modern slavery and human trafficking and allow us to monitor compliance.
We reserve the right to carry out audits or inspections of suppliers where we identify a potential risk. These audits may include site visits, review of documentation and interviews with relevant personnel. If any concerns or non-compliance are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree a corrective action plan within a defined timeframe, or, in serious cases, consider the suspension or termination of the relationship.
Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels
Storage Harringay is committed to raising awareness of modern slavery among our employees and key contractors. We provide training and guidance so that staff understand the signs of modern slavery, the risks within our sector and the mechanisms for reporting concerns.
We encourage all employees, contractors, customers and other stakeholders to report any suspicion or concern relating to modern slavery or human trafficking connected with our business or supply chain. Concerns can be raised through our internal reporting procedures or directly to senior management. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will take all concerns seriously, investigate them appropriately and, where necessary, take prompt corrective action.
We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Harringay recognises that addressing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach, systems and controls. Each year, we will review our modern slavery risks, the effectiveness of our policies, and the outcomes of any due diligence or audit activity.
This Statement is reviewed and updated on an annual basis, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, operations or risk profile. The review covers our policy framework, supplier management processes, staff training and reporting procedures. Where we identify opportunities to strengthen our controls or industry practices evolve, we will refine and enhance our approach.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Harringay and reflects our ongoing commitment to act responsibly and ethically in all aspects of our business.
